What type of camper attends Bridgton Sports Camp?
Our campers range in age from 8-15 and are from all over the world. A Bridgton Sports camper wants a full camp experience packed into a shorter session. All of our campers have different ability levels, but they all love sports and want to play and improve their game!
What makes Bridgton's program successful?
We give our parents & campers some choice in developing their schedule. Our campers “major” in the sport of their choice and at the same time experience everything else that camp has to offer.
Who are the Bridgton Sports Camp coaches & counselors?
All of our counselors are college age students & college coaches from all over the country. Our staff members have strong morals and values and experience working with children. Most of the staff play or have played and/or coached sports at the college level.
What are the living accommodations like?
We live in dorm rooms at Bridgton Sports Camp. Each dorm floor is age appropriate and we make sure that each camper is paired with a boy of similar likes and personality. This is what makes camp so much fun. You can also room with a friend if you want. We have common areas in the dorms where all campers can hang out together.
What is the food like?
The food is awesome. We think that choice is important at all meals. In addition to your typical camp food like pancakes, pizza, chicken fingers and meatball subs, we always have cereal and fruit at breakfast and a full salad bar and homemade soups at lunch/dinner.
What else do we do at camp besides play sports?
Sports are obviously a big part of camp but we have so much other stuff going on too! Campfires, Color War and trips to amusement parks, water parks, and minor league baseball games are all part of a summer at Bridgton. We also have laser tag at camp!
What do we do after dinner?
We always have an Evening Activity that is followed by down time in our Wolverine Den. This is a brand new building where you can get snacks and watch the Yankees and Red Sox play at the same time on our five big screen TV’s!
How can parents communicate with Bridgton to find out how their child is doing during the summer?
Campers call home once a week and we encourage parents to call camp anytime for a progress report. Campers also have mandatory letter writing once a week.
What kind of medical care is available at camp?
We have a resident nurse who is with us the entire summer and a Doctor on call. Bridgton Hospital is located 5 minutes away from camp.
What is your policy with electronics?
Only electronics that aren’t WIFI capable are allowed. They must be kept in the dorms and are only used at rest hour or at night.
